What's new :-

iTunes 4.7 includes support for copying photos to an iPod photo, the ability to show duplicate songs in your library, a mini player in the task bar, and other performance improvements.

Bloody hell, they only just released the last set of iPods a couple of months ago!

Anyway, not convinced by the iPod Photo business. The question has to be...WHY??

The only possible use I could see of that feature for me is if it allowed me to download photos from my digi camera as "overflow" storage for images when on holiday without access to my PC. However, with an addon from Belkin I can already do that with my existing iPod...allthough I obviously can't see the images on it.

As a way of showing images to your mates the iPod Photo screen is far too small. This one goes down as a gimmick IMO.

Michael.

Mike, why indeed, but whats the bet iriver and all the other pretenders come straight out with one?

It would be nice for sharing photoes as it says for PC as well, I could see me nicking all me parents computer photoes and giving them mine.

I see you can hook it up to a TV or projector for displaying on a larger screen so of some limited use, but not for me. I sure it will sell like hot cakes though even if it is pretty expensive.

Michael.

Well the 60gig is 599 dollars, so no doubt it will be around the 500 mark in the UK, so yes expensive.

If it came in at 400 quid I think that would be a resonable price with the active matrix colour as well.

What would piss me off is if PCs get iphoto for free, I had to pay for this and if this happens i'll be kicking off*

*Knowing full well it will have no effect what so ever.

Apple would be shooting themselve if they did this, its further reasons for PC owners not to get a mac.

Garyi your apple crusade is begining to get to the realms of certain Whalian equipment stand fans :)

PC users may not want to get a mac, I like macs, but prefer the versatility of pcs with regards to upgrades and things.

I think you missed my point entierly analgueKid.

I did not say all PC users should get a mac, but that Apple if they want more PC users on board should not keep giving their excellent software to them lol.

Garyi I was just yankin' yer chain mate, I like macs, think they are great, If I had the money I'd have both and use the mac for graphics.

Not just your pc reference but "pretenders" I thought it was creative who created the HD jukebox (although I might be wrong) and therefor Ipod is also a pretender.

As to free PC version of I tunes, if apple charge for it then not many will take thenm up on it, and less ipods will be sold, I'd put money on it that Ipod makes far more for apple than any of it's computers.

Any way appologies but was really just kidding.

He cool I was only messing as well, contrary to popular belief I am not foaming at the mouth!

Apples profits last year were 46 million this year 161 million and yes they mostly put it down to ipod sales.

Worse than that, it comes preloaded with hours of U2 songs. And they expect people to pay for that?
