i was in oxfam yesterday.
checking out the lps.
picked up a copy of'satchmo plays king oliver' on blue vinyl
its a hae shan bootleg of an rca living stereo lp. ser no h.s.70
it plays fine, one small jump and minimal crackle.

i got it for £4. i thought there may be a profit in it.
however, i can find absolutely no trace - WHATSOEVER - of its' existence.

the way i see it, it's either so rare no one knows it exists:D or it's so naff that no one cares.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

It was originally issued in both the US and UK on the Audio Fidelity label in 1960 in both stereo and mono formats (I've got a mono one). Audio Fidelity were a pioneering audiophile label, they actually made the worlds first commercially available stereo record in 1957 and went on to produce some of the daftest and best recorded albums known to man. I've got a very nice collection of their cheesier output!

Sachmo plays King Oliver was possibly later issued in the UK on RCA, though I am uncertain about this as I've only ever seen the AF versions. I have never heard of the label or issue that you have. I very much doubt its worth a lot, but it's a great album anyway. Louis Armstrong was a genius.

Tony.

thanks for your info.

as for the hae shan lable , i discovered that it was bootlegged in china. they made copies of rick nelson, cliff etc. they are worth a few quid by all accounts.

i was just bit suprised that i could find no trace of this actual production
