Recieved my t-amp a little while ago and thinking of building a system together to put with a digital piano.
anyone know anything about Control 1s?

I can't find any that sell for that amount now.

We used to have a few pairs at work and from what I recall there are two variations for the the tweeter. I recall one had a ceramic tweeter or something (looks dark) and was decidedly average whereas the other pair had a metal dome tweeter (looks shiny!) and was better. Recall them sounding OK but nothing spectacular.

p.s. Just looked at your links and the ones on eBay seems to have the metal dome tweeter?

They are handed cabinets, which is visually annoying, but not a real issue. They sound punchy driven by a clean amp, but not much bass. I have used the 4" paper bass as a mid in 3 ways. The cheap mylar tweeter was really just the same one found all over 80s speakers like the Audax ..74. The metal dome replacement is better as Andyoz says. Worth £40 each. Quite a heavy load [~3 ohms min] if you were going to run lots of them around a house [or wine bar] which may be why they often grate a bit when you hear them.

Anyone tried the Radius 90 from Monitor Audio? I would expect it to be pretty good.
