My first post in the forum, please treat me gently :)

I've got a John Linsley Hood integrated amplifier, 15W class A, all worked fine until recently when a fault developed. A channel stopped working with my tuner although I can hear the noise. At the same time, both channels worked with my laptop output. After some time, that channel no longer works with any source. I've read somewhere that it's a bias problem but never paid attention to it until mine slumped to the issue (who else?). Could anyone please shed some light on it?

It might be useful to add that when the amp is switched off, the sound takes quite some time to fade out, with one channel in particular (the non-faulty one) takes longer than the other. It's my stand in amplifier anyway, but I really love the sound and want to rescue it from a potential life in my shed.
