    Have had a good few, at the moment couple of them...and a friend recently bought the speaking translator, which most of the time (so am told) is inaudible, as for the rest, the only differences i've found are are the amount of languages and words they contain, so if you just need the basics, would say it doesn't really matter, one will do the job just as well as the other :)

    Yes, I don't know.....

    A colleague was quite enthusiastic about them....hes leanrt english....from polish....very well in the last year.

    I need to progress with tthis thing one way or another...

    The more expensive ones have vioce rcogniton....which could be useful.....and conjugation abilities which def WOULD be useful.

    A simple one tostart with though, I think, to see how it goes.

    Tell you what, if you want to test the translator before buying, type "ship sinks today", in most languages it will tell you about an order to ship bathroom sinks.
    On a voice recognition unit: say "I Scream" ...
