Hey everyone,
I'm setting up a sound system for a 40x30 shed that I'm turning into a party space, and I'd love to get some thoughts on the gear I've put together. It's going to be used for high-energy parties, small concerts, and events, so I'm aiming for both punchy bass and clear highs. Here's what I'm working with:
Speakers:
(4) Cabinets total with NL8 Input, each with:
(1) JBL 2446J 16 OHM (Highs) in JBL 2380A
(2) JBL 2123H 8 OHM (Mids)
(2) Peavey 1801 LT Black Widow 18" 8 OHM (Lows)
Rack & Accessories:
Specific Questions:
Room Size Considerations: Given the shed's 40x30 size, will this setup be enough to fill the space with clear, balanced sound, or do I need to rethink speaker placement/quantity?
Bass Handling: The Peavey 18" subs should give me plenty of low-end, but will they be too much for the space, or will they deliver the right punch without causing distortion?
Cabling Efficiency: I'm using long speaker cables (50ft-75ft). I plan on running a left and right side via channel 1 and 2 due to my shop layout which is why I got two pl380's for the subs.
System Tuning for Parties: Any tips on EQ or tuning the system to make sure it's optimized for a high-energy, dancing party atmosphere?
General Setup Advice: Any tips for maximizing sound quality and power in a shed-sized space, especially when it's going to be used for parties and events? How can I avoid overloading or blowing anything?
Thanks so much in advance for your feedback! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on optimizing this setup for the best sound possible in a 40x30 shed.
