Th hiFace is an ideal way to experiment with computer audio, especially if you have an older dac without USB or firewire connections.

That looks very interesting. Do you know when they're releasing the Mac drivers mentioned on the website?

Lee Hi, I have just asked that very question!
I have tried it with Vista and XP and it is bloody good ,plays everything up to 24/192, and of course you can use any dac that has s/pdif or BNC. regards Keith.

Mac 'beta' drivers tested today, and apart from the odd bug, worked well and sounded fantastic, especially with Amarra.

    Hi Keith,

So this would be spot on for a nosey at computer based replay? It's a lot easier to swallow than forking out for a Weiss! I'd be looking to use this for a mac mini fitted with SSD running external HD's. Software would be iTunes and Amarra with everything ripped in ALAC. I know the M2 is capable of 24/192 but if i'm running it into my own DAC (KPS20i) will that not affect it or do i still need a 24/192 capable DAC?

Am i right in thinking then that this is just a go-between for computer to 24/192 DAC that hasn't got firewire?

Doug Hi, yes exactly, plug it in ,download the software, add it as your 'output' device in audio midi and you can play everything up to 24/192 ,if your dac is capable, I thought it would be an ideal first step into 'computer audio' but the quality of the sound it is capable of has surprised me.
If you don't think it an improvement we offer a full money back guarantee. Keith.

So i'm right in thinking even just running it into my krell would be a big step up from using the headphone out from my macbook into my amp? Its not 24/192 but the KPS DAC on its own is superb.....Then when convenient add an additional 24/192 stand alone DAC (such as the DAC2) to reap the full benefits. I gather Amarra mini would be best suited to my needs 1st then and upgrade to the full version when i've got a DAC capable of 24/192?

John Hi, I know Marco is working on Linux drivers, I think the problem is the 'open' nature of Linux and the proprietary nature of the M2Tech software!
    They are promised soon.
    Keith.
