Easy,

The accepted support was the Sound Organisation table and later the rack. The really serious men put each component on a seperate SO table with the pre, Hi Cap and power all as far apart as the interconnects would allow. As serious men only had a turntable, it was usual to have 4 seperate tables.

Are you sure , Tony? "Balance of Terror" was the take-off of the classic Robert Mitchum/Curt Jurgens sub hunt film "The enemy below". Scotty didn't have to change anything in that, in fact I don't know whether he appears very much. Having said that, I don't know in which one it was said - must ask the daughters tonight.

No guys, sorry, It was pure play on words, balance of terror is one on one mono a mono, Mana V's friam "were a mile down, almost solid Iron, and even through our deflectors it did this", yes mana can have this effect too :D
