Wanted: MC Phonostage

Looking for options for a phonostage upgrade, must be MC or MC/MM, or a similar preamp. Trichord, Graham Slee etc, or others? If anyone has something lingering in a cupboard unused let me know!

i have a gram slee elevator - lurking in the loft if youre interested

my lad had his eye on it but seems to have gone off the idea now hes into silver spinners !

Looks interesting - has good loading options, MM & MC too. I assume the second box is the PSU?

Looking for info on it, worried it might be a tricky resale if I don't get on with it though.

I know the first link is Red Rose. I think it is pretty commonly accepted that they are the same product. Levinson called them 'completely different products' which compete in different price brackets, but didn't actually dsay that circuits and / or parts were different.

You will indeed take a risk on a resale but around 250 quid less than I did.

If you are around London you'd be welcome to try before buying.

Thanks for the links Scott. I notice the input loading and capacitance are different on the Red Rose so maybe they are as Levinson says? You'd need to do a side by side I suppose.

Decent p/stage though, good luck in your search, hope you find what you are after.
 
I have a two box Black Cat MC phono stage with hard wired cryogenic copper interconnects and complete with battery charger. I bought it about 2 yrs ago but owing to changes in my kit it is now obsolete. I don't know if it is of any interest to you but I am looking for sensible offers.
