It appears that reports are coming from Germany that are linking Michael Schumacher's return to the F1 grid in 2010 with Mercedes. I really hope this turns out to be the case as i believe it will be great to see him racing an F1 car again. :)

    Thanks

I can't understand why he would bother TBH. He's older and slower and IMO can't win as often as his did before. He has an enviable record and all he'll succeed in doing would be to lower his strike rate. I'll be happy to be proven wrong though.

Ferrari won't stand in his way.

The latest reports suggest that Schumacher has been offered £20m a year.

    Thanks

Imo he is helping out his old boss at ferrari - Mr Braun (who has just lost a world champion driver and was faced with a moderate pair of (german) drivers with which to impress the new (german) owners - Mercedes.
This way he gets headlines for Mercedes and an experienced class driver at the wheel..who is suffering from the old retired heavyweight boxer syndrome..?
Cant wait for the clash..Alonso, Massa, Button, Schui..mouthwatering..(oh, and one Lewis Hamilton)

I did think that Shuey didn't drive for Ferrari this year because of a neck problem. Has that suddenly resolved itself?

IIRC he hurt his neck in a motorbike accident, and yes it did prevent his return to F1 for Ferrari this year, but it has now reportedly healed.

That's money well spent. I'd be quite happy to be an also-ran for half that!

I'm sure he doesn't need the money and he should have stayed quit whilst his record was intact. To be remembered for what he once was.

I think he's doing a little better currently - that little bit of gamesmanship at the end of Monaco was classic MS, nice from the in-car footage. I imagine we'll see a podium finish before long - as mentioned earlier in the thread I'm sure he wouldn't knowingly "do a Mansell", as it were.

And if he doesn't do well, just wait for the excuse....'Ow! My neck is a bit sore' !!

I still think its going to take the rest of the season for Schumacher to get a full grip of things.

    Thanks

By "full grip of things" you mean "realise that he doesn't have it any more"?:D

Well he's clearly remembered how to still be a thug on track. Has he been drinking with the Holland football team?
