Did you sort it out? Sounds like you need "jumper" cables to join the top and bottom connectors (assuming you are not doing to biwire them).

You connect the 'speaker cable to both, red to red and black to black.
As Lawrence mentioned above, you will need to link the connectors with either a bridging bar or short cable link.
Bi-Wiring is totally pointless, merely a way for dealers to sell more cable.
