No probs Joseph, I've just done a screen grab from the MF site.

Hi,

yes, I wouldn't be surprised by a drop in price. If it doesn't sell then you mayl be able to pick them up alot cheaper.

this item as the new series will not be dicontinued, or drop in price, i know for a fact is make or braek for them, another english company to become like the rest? if the price tag bothers you with out hearing it then why american products got away with their price tags for so long?

Hi Nando,

It has been quite common to see MF products for sale at lower than recommended prices over the last ten years. There has been a load of products come and go from MF, some in a short space of time.

Are these built to order? Maybe but a few shops will have one in stock/for dem. If they can't sell them, what do you think they will do with it?

The price doesn't bother me a bit. At the end of the day, any amp at £8900 should be very good. Nothing special about that.

In life, you can sell things for what markets will stand. If you can find enough people willing to pay that amouint all the better.

BTW I have heard it.

I did manage to hear one of these amps, at a dealers a couple of weeks back.
My Love for M/F is well documented!, however this amp is very nice, certainly one of the better ones they have produced (along with the A2/370 et al.)
However it is over priced by a large margin I feel, do grab a listen if you near one it will surpise you.
AS with ever thing do check out other units in the same bracket it always yeilds suprising results.

i do agree as to the price being too high but the sound is to my ears pure music, yes there are others about but as always hi-fi is like food, it depends what you mix it with and your paladar , but in my view i love the sound, and as for dealers who have bought other manufacturers new realseed goods in this dificult times how many will not want cash flow to stay belly donw ?

I'm only going by what MF were saying the other year. My most loved amp is the A370. I have located an A470 which I may buy.

It was a tongue in cheek comment snipping at MF's silly marketing campaign to sell their superchargers (which I quite like as an amp on their own)

Remember their slide chart free with every issue of Hifi News telling us if we don't have 500W your system is rubbish.

I looks like a great amp. I would be very interested to hear it sometime.:)
