My wife is insisting I rationalise the number of hi-fi boxes I have, so I am reluctantly selling my:
Musical Fidelity A1 fully balanced pre-amp, and
Musical Fidelity 550K superchargers (a pair).
They are all in good condition. List price for the units was £4,500.
This is a good value high end system, and a steal at £1,500.
Musical Fidelity describe the combination as "one of the best amplification systems available at any price".
A1 FBP
It has 2 pairs of balanced inputs, 1 pair of balanced outputs, 5 single ended inputs including a phono-stage ( MM/MC ), 1 pair of single ended outputs, has HT bypass on 2 inputs, and an integrated USB DAC. It comes complete as a 2 box system (pre-amp and separate power supply ), including the PSU interconnect cable, remote control, manual, and all original packaging.

550K superchargers
This exceptionally powerful power amp delivers good sound, ultra-wide dynamic range and offers lots of headroom for peaks. Each supercharger provides 550 watts output per channel into 8 Ohms (27dbW).
The superchargers can be used as monoblock amplifiers with a pre-amplifier as I have done, or with an existing amplifier it can boost the signal that is sent through the speaker cable. The manual explains all, and the reviews below treat it in this second mode.
