After a few days wondering what to replace my cassete deck with I decided to buy a cheap DVD for £50 from safeway.
So far I'm impressed with it, its multi region (via a hack on the website), it was co-axial and optical outputs, s-video out, plus the usual phono and scart outputs.
Its a compacks DVD4000, the image quality is much better than the one in my PC, and the sound quality again a major improvement. It does sound muffeled with music CDs though but I expected that anyway, and I have my Sony for music.
I stuck this under chat as I didn't feel it was directly related to audio.
Anyway I'm off for a pub lunch now in this lovely weather.
