Don't know this DAC but Chris Found, who has designed the filter for my bass drivers, has also designed a valve DAC that he is considering marketing.

The Tubalog dac is supposed to be very good - I think it was around in the mid 90s.

MF also made a CDP called the CDT (how many acronyms in one thread!?) - it had 2 valves in an A1-style case, with the toploading (looked REEEEALY cheap!) transport in the middle of the case top, and the 2 valves poking trough behind it. It thus looked a bit like a frog, and got nicknamed "the frog" I'd LOVE to own one one day...
