New Baby Cessaro Horn.

Gorgeous, absolutley beautiful! I bet they sound wonderful too.

I will have to get some timber and make some of those diffusers, I have been thinking about some acoustic traetmants for a while, and they look fab!

Nice Keith,

I've got some TAD 2002's on the way for a similar project with the Volt 2500.4 and TAD ET703. I'm sure the small Cessaros will sell if priced sensibly.

It's a shame to lose the horn loaded bass, but it's a much more domestically acceptable cabinet.

The wood veneer is very attractive too.

Looking real good. Its time for me to revisit the horn experience, maybe these don't beam at you. Are they available in the US for demo?

SM, Hi I really do not know what is in that particular pair, I believe the plan might be to offer a couple of specs with the 2002 and 703 as one option and perhaps a cheaper variant, Ralph is in the Far East at the moment so hopefully I shall know more when he returns, price should be around half that of the Alpha's.
Rollo Cessaro will be at CES this year in the Zanden room, demonstrating the Alpha's ,don't think a US distributor has been appointed just yet.

Sadly I don't find Ralph's pricing to be sensible - in particular in comparison with Hornfabrik in Germany. The 20% rule I suppose has to exist if you have distributors, retailers, and marketing costs - but Ralph doesn't have those costs does he? Don't his distributors sell direct? The Alpha really should be sold for around £14K IMHO and at around £7K or £8K I'm sure the new product would find a market. They are excellent speakers after all.

Thanks coops, I'll be there if all works out. They should sound great with the Zanden line.

if the cost of a speaker for the manufacturer is us$10.000,00, than it must go at least for us$ 40.000,00 retail. The Alpha is 35000,00 euros retail, as far as i remember, this comes to almost 9.000,00 euros cost , what is quit accurate. Since the Cessaros are sold trough regular retail stores, it cannot be less.

Retail is set by the Manf. at 5.5 times cost. The distrib gets 20% and the retailer 40%. Get rid of both of them and it should be 60% less. If the manf. sells direct and advertises or supports a web site an additional percentage must be added.
Its just the way all business is. The distributor is the one to go. now if the retailer stocks the product he is IMO entitled to the 40% if he has to order one for you a 20% discount should be in order IMO.
