Had this for a couple of months, and am a big fan of the band.

I know they're well known, so I'll spare the band description.

I have all of their studio albums on vinyl, and the sound quality isn't quite what I'd wish for on the early albums. Not bad, but too thick in the mids, ok if you have thin sounding speakers, but I dont..

The latest though - declaration of dependance sounds great ! yay!

and the songs?

Well, I had to listen a few times, and now I like it as much as quiet is the new loud or Riot on an empty street.

What a great band, 3 studio albums now (I dont count versus) and they're all great !

loving it :)

Bought their last one a month ago on vinyl too. Presently in Denmark myself, where these Norwegians are hugely popular and have many musical soulmates -also in Berlin, where one of 'em leads a band too. Can't just rememeber their name now, but good stuff as well, though only on CD AFAIK.

Even better "live" in a venue in CPH. The really look like that laid-back boy next door. Relax, sit and enjoy. They play, and you start with a beer and then another one, then... well, can't remember all too well :guiness:

Regards,

Vincula

I've checked out the name of Erlend Øye's band. They call themselves "The whitest boy in town alive". Got two Cd's here, Dreams and Rules. Recommended.

Actually I encourage you to take a trip to Berlin. Great city, quite unexpensive and with a blossoming cultural activity, and creative youngsters all over the place. Not the idea and prejudices many have of Germany at all. Huge music shops and - good news- vinyl (Schallplatten!) is really popular in Germany.

Warm up your valves and enjoy, mate:cool:

Regards,

Vincula

You don't count Versus? Is that because you don't like it? Raher fond of it myself.

Im listening some tracks of it, and i cant believe how rich sound two guitars and two voices can produce. Amazing...

If you ever get a chance to see them "live", do not hesitate once. If you fancy vinyl, you won't be dissapointed either.

versus Mo?

well, it is remixes, and therefore not a 'studio' album, I meant.

I do prefer the original versions of the songs, but welcome an album of alternatives for when I'm in such a mood.

I had discovered 'the whitest boy alive' through the beauty of the internet a while ago.

Vincula, have you also been listening to the rather lovely 'faust' - this is the voice of the gorgeous and heavenly female vocal on the K.O.C. albums.
