A range of three products coming later in 2013 from H.T Baker Audio (that's me):

Tube phono stage with fully adjustable loading, fully customised to the user requirements.

Pre amp with 2 channel LF parametric EQ and LF step control to assist with loudspeaker/room integration:

Mosfet 50wpc RMS power amp with voltage and current drive options to suit modern and vintage loudspeakers.

All under £1k per box.

A near final version of the power amp just to give a flavour:

now that is what i call ART, super design, well done rob, can't wait to see the pre. :)

I just love the 1950's (or is it 60's) look and feel the externals of that power amp has. Good luck with the venture Rob and I will watch this thread with interest.

Just out of interest are the VU meters illuminated with an incandescent bulb or LED, the light appears to be a traditional filament bulb, but that could just be the photo.

Cheers chaps.
Filament lamps on the meters, running at about half voltage and AC so should last donkeys years.

Warmer and more in keeping with the 50s feel than leds.
I tried aqua 'Mcintosh' green too but that was a bit OTT

like i said it's nostalgic and a work of ART, please rob keep me posted on a pic of the pre as well,

Cheers Joseph.
Here's how the pre panel graphic looks currently:

...and the phono stage:

That will include mono and a flat (RIAA bypass for 78s) provision also.

Henry Thomas Baker - my late Grandfather.

The man responsible for nurturing and supporting my interest in all things audio and hi-fi for as far back as I can remember. From the plastic battery record players at age 5, the little Fergusson cassette recorder at about 7 and on to the serious stuff through my teens.

Is it the sort of kit he would have liked? Would he say it has too many buttons and lights?

He'd probably want more!

He was a fan of those big Japanese receivers from Trio, Pioneer and the like.

rob has the pre amp have "apart from pre-out" another pssive output ? I.E. like tape out?

Hi Joseph,

Yes it will have tape loop. Somewhere to insert the Audiosmile DEQ :)
