New SME arm!

Not really, it's the tonearm, the headshell & the counterweight, no arm lead and no bias weight. Basically what SME ask you to send it when you ask for a full service.

Doesn't it seem a bit unlikely that SME would actually go to the effort to completely re-manufacture an old arm for this reason? Seems more likely that they had all the requisite parts held as spares which would make this new old stock - unless I suppose they still do make new bits for the 3009 due to continued demand for servicing and spares.

I'm pretty sure that they can supply all the parts for a 3009 as spares. Bloody expensive way to make a new tonearm though. Especially as you can pick up second hand complete minters for less than £200 (which is too expensive anyway).

so send your tone arm off to sme to get it serviced then pretend you never recieved it when they send it back.
