And the winner is...
Ok guys,
As I have promised here are the results from my audition.
I did two auditions. For both of them I took my amp and Cd player.
First audition:
I heard Dynaudio Audience 42 (the 52 was not available), they sounded too "cold" and "metalic", lack of colour and stage.
I heard the Acoustic Energy AESprit 300. Better, but two much bass power, so it turned out difficult to distinguish midrange frequencies.
I heard the Sonus Faber Concertino. Absolutelly wonderfull !!! Very coulorfull speaker with lots of detail and a good compromise.
Second Audition:
I heard the KEF Q7, well.......they didn't impress me. They showed a little extra bass power (almost the same problem with AESprit).
I heard the Acoustic Energy EVO3 and.......absolutelly wonderful speakers, lots of detail, well balanced bass/midrange.
I heard the Vienna Acoustics Hayden Signature. Very impressive !!!! But difficult to justify the price in comparison with the Acoustic Energy.
It is obvious that auditions are very personal and depend on each others "ears". It is also obvious that all these speakers are excelent speakers, but the real chalenge is to match your amp and CD with the most proper speakers to my ears.
Lessona that I have took from these auditions:
- Always bring your amp/cd.....hifi with you
- Always bring your music with you. Musical preferences can
make THE difference
- Most expensive does not mean the best.....
Sorry for these advices but I think they can be useful for first time hifi fans like me.
So the choice will be the EVO 3, paired with cabletalk 3.1 speaker cable. I need to change the interconnects , but only after a few months listening my new speakers.
Above all I would like to thanks all of you for your advice !!!!!
