Hi Shaggy.
I have bought a modern Suzuki Swift car. The so-called Infotainment System is complex. I have music in various formats .wav and .mp3 on a USB transferred from my modern HP Laptop. It worked perfectly on my previous car a 2018 Citroen C3 but I cannot get it to play in the Swift.

The Instructions say 1. Connect the USB memory device in the USB port. 2. Touch Home, Menu, USB. But the USB icon remains greyed out. Apparently, in the instructions, the only audio files that can be played are files that have been saved in the MTP format. And Android is mentioned!

I have tried several websites but none covers converting .wav or .mp3 to MTP. So I would like to know whether it can be done or not.

Have you come across this situation?

Do you have individual files or do you have folders on that USB drive? If you have folders, try loading individual tracks instead. Folder seem to confuse digital audio players as they are looking for specific codecs. Save your folders elsewhere and try individual tracks.

MTP is only a file transfer protocol and not an audio codec such a .mp3, .wav, etc... I am not sure why Suzuki would include that instruction as MTP does not read nor play audio codecs. Rather, it transfers them between devices.

One other potential solution is to format a new USB drive as a MTP drive so that the files transfer from the USB to your audio system.
