SVS have included something [U]really[/U] clever and I think unique in their Ultra Surround speakers - they can be used in three different modes: Bipole - both sets of drivers in phase. Dipole mode - both sets of drivers out of phase. Duet mode - each set of drivers receives a discrete signal. The Duet mode is the clever bit - you only need two rear spekears to give you full -blown 7.1, great for space saving, reduced cabling and of course cost! Why didn't anybody think of that before?
