I have tried a lot of noise reduction software, AI even and they always take out noise that they're not supposed to take out so the music sounds bad. I get a lot of hissing and white noise when recording from a tape. What software will take this out?

Professionally, Cedar is probably the best, but very expensive for home use. I've used Audacity reasonably successfully, but it has to be used subtly or it does take out more than just noise.
