    Can someone tell me what the audible effects of old capacitors are? (in a crossover specifically).

    Also, do they keep degrading or is there a plateau where they stop getting worse?

    Thanks

    In an amp ........its sometimes a scratchy sound or long time to get to a steady state .....in speakers maybe a dullness ?

    I've probably got a handful of new caps in the workshop that may be of use to someone. They are all new and unused. I think they may be ore use for crossovers but If anyone wants them or needs more info let me know, free to a good home ;)

    OK, have checked what I actually have (should have done that in the first instance realy), and I have three pairs, each pair being different.

    They are all ClarityCap brand;

    Pair 1 - SA3u3J630Vdc 0503B

    Pair 2 - PW3u3K160Vdc 0503B

    Pair 3 - PX3u3J250Vdc 0503B

    You can identify the caps here:

    Mmm,...let me think!

    I could do with a good high quality set of interconnects that are 2 metre's long minimum. I may also need to look at getting some RCA (PHONO) plug splitter/y-cable, 2 of,...again must be high quality.

    But then if Zanash reads this he will probably rap my kuckles for not sourcing these through him,...hehehe

    That's all I can think of for now.

    PM me your address and I will stick them in the mail ;)

    They will have a name of 'The Audio Bahn' on the label, that was my old distribution company which is no more, just don;t want to confuse you (the manufacturer put it on the labels when I requested them).
