I have a spare optical which I'm not using simply because it's too short for my needs (1m long, I now have a Qunex OT 3m). It has captive end protectors for the toslinks, and also comes with two 3.5mm jack converters (for minidisc portable or similar). Yours for £15 inc p&p.

Not sure... it's not branded on the cable, and I can't recall where it came from.
It's a step up from the basic all-plastic fishing-line like opticals though, with gold plated TOSlinks (I never did understand that... the QED has them as well, but I still fail to see what it achieves with an optical cable...). Photos attached
