Tossers! had to get that off my chest
becuase i have been trying to get them to collect a parcel for sideshow since last Thursday. Arranged for between 4:15 and 6:15 again Today, i get home and there is a card saying they tried to collect at 3:10 I phone and explain, they assure me a r-collection will happen before 6:15, did it hell! So now re-booked for tomorrow, but i dont hold out much hope. I find it hard to believe that they cant collect a parcel within 5 working days. Sorry Sideshow Mick, i am sure you have had need to get things off your chest in your lifetime
They are useless aren't they? Bet you regret ever starting this now! Mick - sort them out, you have the power! Kick the relevant arses in triplicate, there's a good chap. -- Ian
Ian I suspect your house is empty when they called and this is a major problem for any delivery company. You may recall that there was a national strike a few months ago. I was shipped up to London and had to roam the streets to deliver special delivery letters which could not be pushed through the letter box but had to be signed for. I was given 60 letters and only delivered 4 because no one was in. I often wonder why more houses are never burgled because I even knocked on the neighbours houses and they were empty. Regards Mick
Mick, they are collecting from me to deliver to Ian I specified after 4:30pm, so they tried to collect at 3:10pm They did agree to the specified time aswell.
Ian You case illustrates a valid problem. If any delivery van had to call at your house, at say plus or minus five minutes of an agreed time, they would have to make a bee line for your house and that is just not economical. They could be losing out on other deliveries. You must remember that Parcelforce is always cheaper for a single delivery and that is only done by deivering to a precribed journey. I think the way the market is going, is that a delivery firm will send a motorcycle to collect your parcel but you will have to pay for the priviledge. Nearly all houses are empty during the day and evening deliveries are more expensive. Regards Mick
Totally agree Penance, Parcel Farce would be a much more apt name . Just be grateful you're not chasing up a damages claim with them as then the fun really starts . I bet this happens a lot. Companies are getting much better at allowing deliveries to work addresses rather than a credit card holder's home address, but some still can't manage it. I sometimes still end up ordering something knowing full well I'm not going to be in when it's delivered, and have to wait for it to be at a depot where I can collect it. The automatic following day redilivery policy of some companies then really get's me wound up, but I know they think they're being helpful...
Mick, you misunderstand. They are collecting from Penance for delivery to me (to my work address, as it happens). They've failed to collect, not failed to deliver. -- Ian
Martin, this is very relevent, Mick you see is Chief pointy head @ Parcel farce & is responsible for the smooth workings of said large UK company, however I will say Mick has managed to sort out a few problems that one or 2 memebers have had with the said large member, so he's not all paisey & breach load Mick did you take time out of your busy shedule to mingle with the 'public' at all?
