I've just acquired a rather minty INCA TECH Claymore 
, a fantastic amp for the money, exactly the sound I was looking for.
In anticipation of keeping this amp for a while I would like to source a pair of period stand-mount speakers to compliment it.
They would be in a very small (3Mx 2.5M) listening room, playing mainly Rock, Prog, Electronica.
I like a fairly fast, detailed (though not clinical) sound, not too coloured, not overly concerned about deep bass although it must be controlled, ideally a mid / late 80's version of my current Audionote AX-2's (which I am happy to swap for them).
Budget is about £250 max (or my AX-2's), new or second hand.
What have you, have you heard with the Claymore or would you recommend ?
