Well the new year is here, so what if any plans do you have for system changes in 2012?

I'm planning to start work on building an integrated amplifier - the thing Quad never produced which is effectively a fusion of the 34/306. Half width, plenty of sinking on the sides, current dumping, ability to drive 2 ohms (yay!), tilt and bass step. Internal phono and dac options. Should keep me busy :)

Sounds good Dev.

My plans are Raal Lazy Ribbon tweeters that should be here very soon.

A roll around lip on the horn mouths - starting with the upper mid (smallest ones), then perhaps the Mid ones.
I've already started modding the first upper mid horn.

It will be a wrap around horn mouth termination similar to a Le Cleac'h. I did a trial with foam pipe insulation and it was a reasonable result.

After that (slightly longer term), I plan to make a horn lathe and turn up a 800Hz Le Cleac'h profile plug to allow me to make glass fibre horns. If successful I'll go onto bigger ones perhaps 300Hz but they get pretty big the lower you go.

That should keep me busy + I'm building another pair of narrow GRF's right now...

I'm thinking of building a pair of cabinets for DMT15s to replace the CPAs.

I still think you should experiment with a better driver first given the work that went into those cabinets.

Some nice 12" HPDs for example.

Hopefully to find a Clux solution for BD HD audio into my meridian processor. If I have the dosh, an 861v4.

I've already bought a pair of drivers. They just happened to be 15" rather than 12;). The new cabinets will be ported.

Of course you realise you have to build 2. For, er, ahem, stereo:D.

Hmmm...musing on possible power supply / audio mods ;)

I'm feeling distinctly left out of this middle aged man car thing.

Dev has his posh B&W, Martin has whatever that impressive looking machine is, and Jonathan R recently came for a visit in his Porsche.

Mind you, being able to drive might help :)

Nah, rise above it Rob - you are not beholden to the price of fuel and can spend it on vinyl and cartridges instead :D

PS less of the 'middle-aged' please: we are children, or at least boys with toys...
