Hi guys

I have been having a problem with i-Tunes. I use a Carillon (music) PC with a Mixtreme soundcard, all set up by a pro-audio dealer for recording audio - and it works fine with Cubase SX. I thought that I would try out i-Tunes in advance of getting my Apple powerbook. Once in every 20 times that I playback a song it 'jumps' or 'stutters' however if I play the song again it does not happen and the stuttering can happen on any song. I'm moving to a Mac for i-Tunes but it was concerning and I wondered if anyone else had this problem. Is it because it is a PC is there any other reason?

Cheers

Dominic

Nope, it has worked fine for me ever since it was installed.

On a PC? With what settings for compression/non compression. Interested to see if it is anything to do with the compression that I have used - AAC 128 bit. Thanks

No problem for me on a mac.

Knowing the appauling attempt at multitasking PCs have are you sure its not another process in the background causing a skip?

I only encode MP3 at 192K as the main use for my mp3's are in the car or when I have a bit of a p*ss up and I worry about my CD's getting trashed.

Oops I also forgot my iPod too

Gary, could be but normally I just play i-Tunes as I am assessing the sound quality before I sell the Wadia. How is your G5/Arcam combo coming along? Do you enjoy it as much as the Naim?

Dom I am forming an opinion as we speak, and to be honest its a very mixed bag.

Don't ditch your CDPlayers just yet!
