Quad 77 Integrated Amp

    I have a Quad 77 Integrated Amp - one of the earlier ones in grey.

    The earlier Quad amps seem to benefit from new capacitors every ten years.

    Is the same true of the 77?

    I hear no distress from the amp - as sweet as ever.

    The second hand market for them is not as lively as for the older Quads.

    Perhaps that will change.

    ...fitting better caps will improve the sound of any amp ...my 77 pre was helped by upgrading the diodes to schottkys fitting newer/better opamps and decoupling caps on there power rails
