I recently acquired a pair of these, now about 40 years old. One of the tweeters wasn't working, but upon removal of the rear panel I discovered it was a crossover problem as the Celestion HF1300 shows continuity.
A friend is checking both crossovers for me. The mid/ bass drivers are Kef B139 MK II. The cabinets are solid 1" Afromosia and the front and rear panels are plywood. The general level of construction is very good, with attention to detail.
The cabinets are currently undergoing restoration and should look very good when completed.
Does anyone here have experience of Radford loudspeakers ? I heard a pair if Tristars in the early '70s , which sounded good at the time. Loudspeaker technology moves on, but I am looking forward to hearing them on a modern system.
