I hate the bloke, could quite easily slap him around over and over again. I throw things at the telly when he's on (really should just turn over), I put pictures of him on my dartboard. I have voodoo dolls of him, basically I hate Elton John.

So it was with a huge amount of self-loathing, disgust and total teeth-grinding annoyance that I weakened and bought Goodbye Yellow Brick Road coz it was sooo cheap in the woolies cheap cd section. My plan was to use the case to replace a damage one, use the cd itself for a coaster (face down) and jam a annoying rattle in the bathroom with the booklet.

However, I decided to give it one 15 sec spin just to say Ive played it and now I cant stop playin it, I just cant. I even have the songs in my head. I hang my head. I'll go to confession for the first time in 17 yrs on saturday and ask for my sinned to be forgiven.

Hah! I bought this on vinyl when it first came out, having bought and liked Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player. I sold both albums a year or so later because, although GYBR does have some catchy choons, Elton John is the spawn of the Devil and owning his records led to a series of unfortunate incidents, including swarms of locusts, boils, frogs and endless darkness.

PS I liked National Lampoon's spoof Elton John song, entitled 'Danciing on the Grave of Rock 'n Roll'.

Thats not even his best - you need 'Capt Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy'
state of the art rock.

He is indeed a plonker, but many of the old timers had massive musical credentials and some just hang around about 20 years too long. Just think, if he'd OD ed in the late 70s there would be scruffy kids, flairs trailing on the ground, hooded tops - the usual shit - visiting his grave, swapping MP3s, talking about 'that legendary cool mincing dude'....

I feared as much. No joke, when I purchased this on saturday it was glorious, not a cloud in the sky. Since then the temp has dropped and its very dull with showers. Im also very tired all the time and not that hungry. Now I come to think about it the week hasnt gone all that well. This is worrying to say the least........

No, serioulsy its a pretty fine musical production, Dick Turpin or whatever his writing buddy is called came good with this. I just fear its like finding an unknown tomb of some Egyptian king (or should that be queen hahahaha Im dead funny) in the roughest part of Egypt and discovering hidden treasures that will make you wealthy. Then two weeks later you wake up to find a 1000 ants slowly eating your middle wicket whilst slugs drink the water from your eyes and then discover your bed is actually a bed of snakes and spiders start to crawl from your mouth, ears and nose.

Okay that may not happen but there is a Raven on my car as I type this..........
