On several occasions I have needed a remote control for a preamp etc. I usually contact the manufacturer of the item, and ask if they have one, and if not, what typeof code does the original remote use. Often it uses Philips RC5 codes.I then go on ebay and find Chinese generic replacment remote controls where the advert often says something like 'will operate Philips RC5 codes'.
