I have an old Rotel RB-991 that just recently stopped working. I thought maybe it was the fuses so I replaced them, now I am getting smoke (briefly- obviously I unplug it quickly when it starts). I can imagine this thing is toast- but does anyone have any idea what would cause this? I did opt for a 10 amp vs the 12 amp- would this have made this happen? Anyone know where to search for Rotel replacement fuses? Thx

10amps would make it less likely to overload than 12 so thats not the issue IMHO.

Could be anything, if it was me (ie stupid) I'd plug it in with some safety glasses on and the lid off to see where the smokes coming from. Then you can at least point a repair agent in the right place. Thats just me though.
