hi, I got a new pair of speakers last week and I'm busy running them in so to speak...

they sound great as it is - but what kind of improvement can I expect in say percentage terms..? maybe 10%..?

is there a rule of thumb for this and other components..?

just curoius, thats all... :D

mine took at least 3 months, still getting better all the time.IME, bass drivers take ages to run in. mine changed completely, so 100% difference.

my ml electrostatics took the best part of 6months before the bass worked ...had to buy a cheap sub to fill in .....uck

I'd think they should sound several times better when run in !

''a bit better'' I would generically say.

caps run in, and the drivers 'loosten' so to speak.

If you don't like what they do after a week, I'd take them back.

Miraculous changes just don't happen.

depends on the speaker. Mine sounded like a totally different animal after 3 or 4 mths. went from the bass being plummy and slow and mids recessed to open and tight sounding. The treble lost its fizz too after a week.

MY own experiance has been 2 or 3 days of good use for the main run-in and then they get just 'a bit better' from then on.
