Sad story I'm afraid.....

Dev, i understand you need to do that, but i do hope it is realised that it was a valid response to a completely uneducated comment by a sad man.

I agree totally with what you said. Animal cruelty is the realm of sick people with no space for it in a modern society.

yes...I don't know how anyone could do such a thing... :(

I do hope they get them, I know a couple of guys involved with HMS Belfast and it would be much better better for the authorities to catch them than those guys.

If I had not seen the number of posts, I would have assumed Bob was a Troll.
No point explaining why his comments are pointless, stupid and irrelavant, I suspect he knows and if he doesn't, then won't understand anyway.
Penance, I hope your mate doesn't end up in trouble if he does find them........ but the 3 morons do deserve a good bit of retribution.

I did go to the extent of e mailing the staff (HMS Belfast) involved to see what, if any, developments there are.

The reply was to the effect that the police don't think there is sufficent evidence to proceed .

So not good just now.

The Sun have been "very supportive" and are goign to keep the story going.....so maybe some one saw something......

Hi Guys

We live in an every worsening country and planet . There are no moral frame works ,every thing goes and there is no accountability for anyones actions . The law is impotent and the police can do nothing and arn't supported by the public or the government. Its best i don't start on about politicians .

We now have at least two generations that don't care about much and as long as it doesn't affect them don't give a shit about people or animals . Its a good measure of the health of a society when you look at how the weak are treated and that includes animals . By any measure i think we are all in trouble and its not going to get better but only much worse .

With the increasing pressure on resources ,natural and man made i think we are on the edge of a slippery slope ,and once on this is there any hope ?

HMS Belfast was a great ship and as a symbol for what our troops have gone through past, present and future (Armed forces only do what politicians want ,wrong or right)its a shame that this has happened. I hope these people are caught but if so what will happen as a punishment ,not much ,slap on the wrist. Lets face it people who murder humans get of lightly ,what chance of a decent punishment do those who kill and torture animals get.

Regards D Louth

What a sad piece of news.

It really is a poor reflection on Britain today.

All that we can hope is that one day, one far and distant day - nobody will ever read the Sun anymore.

;)

:P

Maybe it's just me, I love moggies-we've got 2 one of which we rescued was mistreated by its previous owner.
This kind of cruelty is all too common and sadly is nothing new but times have changed and for the worse, in a week when 2 young lads have been hunted down by mobs and stabbed to death in cold blood it does seem relatively trivial.
These scum satiated the desire to inflict pain and suffering with this act-'fortunately' it was only a dumb animal, next time it could be a kid, a tramp, a woman, someone we know.

These scum satiated the desire to inflict pain and suffering

And that is it in a nutshell - why do they have this desire???
Find the gene that creates this need and I'd be up for genetically modifying it right out of our species!

next time it could be a kid, a tramp, a woman, someone we know.

Yep - often the next step, and all the more reason why acts like this should never be tolerated and why it is right that people should demand these sorts of crimes are viewed seriously and the perpetrators adequatly punished.

Yes, worse things happen ...... but that doesn't excuse this.

I someone posted saying they had contracted MRSA while in hospital for a routine op and ended up having to have their arms or legs amputated... no-one would reply saying "yes, but you are alive, there are others that have died so forget about it"

No one is excusing it, no one is saying it doesn't matter or we should forget about it.
I was making a depressing observation on the state of things today.
2 mothers sons murdered in the street, stabbed to death and a cat drowned in the Thames-and we're talking about the cat.
Your MRSA point is just silly.
