Scalford show 2011

I'll be leaving the hifi at home this year, but I'll be taking the DSLR to take a few nice piece and video record a few seconds of each room. Should be good for the website.

This is the most interesting show of the year by far - anyone who is interested in hi-fi, and sound reproduction, owes it to themselves to go. The last two years were a LOT of fun and I am hugely enjoying the prospect of this years visit - very highly recomended.

Is this next March, or did I read it wrong?

Seems very early to advertise (?!)

Oops - thought I read that on the Wam site - my mistake; so 6th of March then :).

Hi all,

Just a quick bump for the Pie Fi Show. 6th March 2011

A few things for you all to know:

Entrance tickets are available in advance and at £10.00 or on the day at £12.00.

See here: http://www.thehifishow.com/

The show will start at around 10:00 to 10:30am and go on till 5:30pm. At the last count we had 47 exhibitors, so you will have a full day.

The Hotel food and drink prices are a touch high, but the quality is ok (enough)

There is free parking on site.

HiFiWigWam.com will not be making any profit from the show, should we be lucky enough to have money left over that will go toward funding next year's show. So don't feel you are lining my pocket in any way. (I am sure that is important to one or two of you :-) )

Bring music, comfy shoes and a few quid to spend with our sponsors. www.the-missing-link.net www.stamfordaudio.co.uk and www.discslikenew.com

(Hope the links are not verboten?)

Anyway, come along, it's a nice day out and you can listen to your own music!

Scalford article in Hi fi choice

The latest HFC includes a whole page on Scalford. This is impressive publicity in the mainstream press. And good work by whoever does the PR for this event!

Yes nice piece of promotion on Scalford show by Ed Selley who has been on the Wigwam for years, check out 'Tons of Fun'.

I suspect the Wam boys will put on a far more interesting and enjoyable show than any of the current usual tepid UK efforts.

Would recommend a visit for anyone who wishes to see genuine people showing their take on music, good natured with a nice venue too.
IMHO far more real than Whittlebury.

Worth making the trip

Thanks for the mention Nigel :)

To anyone who is attending the hifi show, please feel free to bring along a scratched disc and we will professionally repair it for you completely free of charge in just a few minutes.

If you are as obsessive about the conditions of your discs as we are (borderline OCD) then I am sure you will be very impressed with the results - we guarantee a near new finish for every disc we repair.

Our machines can address anything from a few fingerprints to very deep scratches
so don't be afraid to bring a disc along that looks like it has gone ten rounds with a breeze block :D

We will also be holding regular demonstrations to showcase just what the machines can do as well as having a good listen to some of the hifis on show on the day.

If anyone does want to bring along more than one disc then we will be charging £1.00 for each additional disc repaired.

See you there!

Anthony & Stephen Taylor

PS - If anyone has any disc repair questions in the meantime (what is it, how does it work etc) then we'd love to hear them

It's James actually, Nigel is "Polarbear" who you dealt with about exhibiting. I own the forum and the show, but the forum members are running it and making it all happen, I can take no credit for the great work they are doing.

Thanks for helping sponsor us though, I hope you get plenty of interest from it.
