Ha ha, I was gonna say something similar; I'd have to sell a lot more than my hifi to pay for that Lotus!:D

my crisis continues but I'm just not getting the use out of the Lotus to justify keeping it, and round here we're so infested with ****** cameras  that there's no point having a fast car . original idea was that my wife would also use it to run around town, as it's really economical. however she hates it and runs around in our Volvo estate - which works in gallons to the mile, so I'm after something frugal and four seated instead :( ....

not really.. i live in the middle of country roads.. and its a 10 mile drive of windy A roads home.. i would probably get great use from a car like that.

yes you cant go more than 60... but on windy roads fast acceleration and power to stop you losing speed and keeping momentum makes it a much more enjoyable drive.

something like that was made for the roads around me

in top gear magazine last month.. a road that runs by my house was voted one of the greatest drives

Awesome car, Midlife. Some lucky git round the corner from me has an Exige S (or something) in blakc, with black alloys and it looks like the batmobile.

Wicked, wicked looking car. When I get a license, I'll buy one!

...not in my book, but then each to their own. Everyone I see round here seem to have 'blonde bints' in them.

I prefer the stripped out track car option though, although I could not get into one with my large frame and that was when I had a good back!

It will sell, there are still enough people who love them,...as has been seen on here already ;)

Group 20 insurance appart from my girlfriend I havent seen other women driving them? They are not for the faint hearted RWD no traction control and extremely light, a very focused car and deserves respect I have had a few 'scares in one' and I have lots of experience with RWD performance cars BM M3, TVR's and Porsche's.

Wrong time of year to be selling though? Have you tried listing it on pistonheads.com? More your market than a hifi forum.

Yes, I would list it in pistonheads.

... well it is a lovely car, and it will sell no doubt. No doubt you will one day think back and sigh...

if you are going to get something to replace it that is more spacious and practical (hardly there is a car less practical this side of a caterham ;)) try a half way road like a good M series diesel estate or a subaru estate.

I had to give up my sports number as I will become a dad soon :baby: and went for a 3.0l diesel M kitted estate. They still throw in the slippers and the pipe, you just use them a lot less... ;)

    good luck with the sale.

(ps: reading shrink's reply... have you thought of keeping the car and move to his neighbourhood instead? :MILD: )

good tip about Pistonheads - now on there. we've got a Volvo estate for the practical side (though it is a T5 :) ) which is great for long trips - need something that's cheaper to run round town. may go in for bangernomics, though I do like the look of the new Honda Civic 2 litre diesel, which has nice styling and does 65mpg. still, while I've got the Elise, here are more pics...

I'm struggling to get in and out of it myself recently - tore the cartilage and inside ligament in my knee. to avoid putting weight sideways on that knee, I end up half climbing over the windscreen - very cool...
