A rip snortingly good album when you're in the mood for that sort of thing.

Had it for a while, but hadn't played it much. Some great tracks on there, and i like the tribal connotations.

what do thers think? do they have any other good albums, foolishly bought "roorback" a while ago, quite different/not so good/ more modern metal crap.

Stick to the ones with Max on vocals would be my suggestion. Beneath The Remains was the one that broke them to a mainstream (if you can call it that) audience and I think that one, and the ones that followed it are all worth owning upto and including Roots. If I had to pick just one, maybe Chaos A.D. would be it.

I remember there was quite a bit of hype when this came out.

The video to Ratamahatta had quite a lot of airtime on MTV and such.

Not really my kinda thing, but I liked the mix of tribal and metal.

Another vote for Chaos AD... a true straight ahead metal album. Agree with MO!, Roots, for me failed to live up to the hype as well. It is a pitty that neither the post-Max Sepultura nor Max's Soulfly have been able to produce anything to match the pre-Roots stuff.

Go on crank it up, scare the children next door!

M'mmmm I got Chaos AD somewhere in the collection, can hardly remember it now, must dig it out for a spin.:slayer:
