I'm looking for a new cart to replace my Ortofon Kontrapunkt B for my Origin Live Aurora TT with Origin Live Silver Arm and Microgroove+ Phono Amp

I listen mostly to Rock/Pop music and the following cartridges seem to be the best option as I don't want to spend more than $600

Shelter 501 ($560)
Dynavector Karat 17D3 ($510)
Denon DL 304($475)

And advice/experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

For rock the Shelter may be the ticket. Dynamic and smooth top to cure the top end of rock recordings. Good luck trying.

They're all nice carts. I'd probably go with the DV17 because I know how well it works on Rega type arms. You'd probably be happy with any of them.
NOt much help I know, but it's a nice problem to have :-)

One thing to bear in mind with the Shelter 501 is that it's on the warm side of neutral. You need to be aware of that before purchase.

Thanks guys,

@Lord summit : I have seen the Denon for less than 200GBP, you're right.

In the end I decided to go for the Shelter 501, I do like a warm sound and can't wait for it to arrive.

I just need to send my Microgroove+ back to have the gain set...
