Hi all...

I have Beth Rowley (I wish) and the Cinematic Orchestra, Ma Fleur on CD, there are tracks on these that do very strange things to my tweeters on one track on each CD and cause them to produce distortion.
I have no problems with any other discs or vinyl, but I know its not the speakers as the same effect has occurred on 3 pairs of mine ranging from Hornings to the Amphions I have now (which feature the tweeter from the £10k model), even with different amps.

Will this distortion damage the tweeter - I don't play them!, I'm now looking for these two on vinyl, as its only bloomin CD of course that does this.

Cheers

...must admit she's a great singer yet her materials
a bit Terry Wogan or gospally standards. Now Mary Coughlan...

I think I must just have a bad combo for this CD, cd, speaks, amp wise.

Is this a thumbs up for Mary or a thumbs down ? I think she can sing the socks off many an artist. Her 2 disc cd 'M C sings Billie Holiday' is fantastic, I've always considered Billie overrated she sounds like a castrated cat in a coal scuttle to me.
!!!?? I've just had an idea for an interesting post.

oh yes, its a thumbs up. :D

never "got" Billie Holiday, I hate all those Jazz inflections. Someone leant me 3 cds, I was like Eh?

What tracks do this? I can't say I have noticed. Perhaps its not the speakers but something else in the room that's vibrating. I used to get that with a pot of pens on my desk. Hard to tell exactly where the noise was coming from though.

To Build A Home - (first one)

caused Hornings and Posselts, now Amphions all to buzz.

...nice work guys.

We had a Yamaha Clavinova that buzzed irritatingly and persistently on middle D.
Turned out to be glasses in the glass cabinet that was near that were resonating - nothing wrong with the Clav :)

Hi Chris,

Probably doesn't help you out much, but I just played the track from "Ma Fleur" without any noticeable issues.

Of course it could be that my system isn't as "revealing" as yours.. :)

Ah... actually, I hate to say it maybe I just assumed a bit to much since it did it on the lowthers I thought I'd heard the same on my new speakers, listening to him again today on ma fleur its more his voice thats high pitched yet with a resonance, certainly nothing nasty like Beth Rowleys doing. so that at least rules one out. Had your FSOL on this morning, how cool is that?
