Question for those of you who have done the shunt mod.

Where did you put the resistors?? In, Out or ground??

So the pot stays wired the same as it usually is, just a resistor in the signal line?

no, connect the signal in to one end of the resistor, the other end of the resistor connects to the track of the pot, and the signal out connects at the same point.

the wiper and the other end of the track (ground end) are connected together.

you might have to wire the pot backwards.

I shorted the the wiper and input and left the ground as usual, it all seems to work well, is it the same effect??

I don't think so... what you need to do is (on mine it needed wiring backwards so like this) connect the signal via the resistors to where the earth usually goes. Take the wire that normally connects to 'out' (the wipers) and connect it to the same place as your signal in, the old earth. Now jumper the wipers (normally the signal out) and the pin that is normally signal in (now out new earth cos we are wiring backwards) together and connect your earth wire too them.

What pot do you have? I did this with a Alps blue so I could take a pic if its important.

Hi T, I only picked up your pm this morning and I see what you mean. I saw post on WAD that mentioned shorting the input and wiper, however Ive just had a further read and they do the same as you have.

I do have an Alps but at the mo Im using a cheapo ohmeg I got from cpc to practive this mod. Ironically, the cheapo ohmeg actually has the edge on the Alps for me.
