"a journalist who writes about hi-fi descrives himself in his last ever column for a well known mag"

Would that be signing-off with a very fine fountain pen, drawn from his collection, that would be better if made by leica and had a valve in it etc etc/cont p.94 ?

'K,'K, I get the idea...

yeah, sad or not, tell me who does not sign a chq. without a golden pen ? still who are we to criticise those who we enjoy to criticise ! i think that we need that kind of old fashioned yet up to date personnality in the hi-fi industry, up to you. nando.

IMHO the man talked utter bollocks most of the time. HFN/RR can only benefit from his 'signing off'.

and STILL he insists on alienating anyone under 35 by poo-poo-ing non physical formats and downloads. the man is a total luddite who's doing more to further 'the death of high-end audio' - a ludicrous statement in itself - redolent of bush and blairs baying about wmd's in iraq, than any pfy in a hi-fi shop selling the customer what he wants.
high end hi-fi is a niche, always has been, always will be. yes there are more things competing for disposable income but then we now have more disposable income anyway.
glad he's gone - perhaps, if he's writing for stereovile, he should get closer to their main offices?

TOO RIGHT,i was disappointed in one room he had at last's years show, two systems: one 100k the other 500k, both sounded like your take away all-in-one micros, and he was pushed? well only close sources of the editorial can reveal, nando.

watch this space, the war is not over, we need views like his, ..other than most boring comments that reviews are based on, sorry my opinion..nando.
