Single ended monoblocks - suggestions - around 3 grand 845 if poss any ideas or is 3 to low ?
I would try and get a demo on this - C core transformers, choke power supply and battery powered driver stage. 211's. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRANSCRIPTION...iers?hash=item414433e1e8&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
I'd suggest a pair of Italian Mastersound 845 amps. Here's an offer including their pre-amp too, good retailer and fairly priced. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MASTERSOUND-M...8QQcmdZViewItemQQssPageNameZRSS:B:SILF:GB:101 Of course a pair of 845 monoblocks from Unison Research would be a great choice as well. Lovely beasts :music: Regards, Vincula
I don't really know, mainly because they're very new products in their line. There's even a new Dual-mono 845 integrated called "Evolution". Go figure . You could always e-mail them and ask directly. http://www.mastersoundsas.it/NEW SITE/Inizio.htm Advantages with the integrated? Signal path's shorter, less clutter, probably price too, since cabinet work's expensive. Anyway, monoblocks offer a greater deal of flexibility than an integrated. You can always find a pre-amp tailored to your needs (features, gain, on-board phono stage or even an AV-processor!); you'll be able to try different cables of your liking (valve equipment's very sensitive to cable choice!), play mono records, add more monoblocks if necessary to bi-amp your speakers :MILD: Just kidding, but you get the point. If you want more to choose from and really enjoy Italian 845 gear, you could put an ear to New Audio Frontiers amps. You've got 845 monoblocks, 845 stereo amp and 845 integrated: http://www.newaudiofrontiers.com/ Don't forget Unison Research either, especially the 845 Smart-monos, since the S8 is said to yield less than optimal performance.
