Just wondered if anyone has owned or auditioned these at all and care to share their thoughts.

SME is too short to search (bit of a tongue twister that)

Try Scale Model Equipment Co.

If you are talking about the search facility on this forum this won't be all that helpful as SME is almost always referred to as just that ... SME

If you put in SME* into the search it'll work ... only problem is it works a tad too well and won't differentiate between references in posts to anything and everything SME (their arms most likely) and posts specific to the model 20s and 30s. Oh well.

I know Mike (merlin) recently auditioned the 10 and 20 I believe.

SCIDB is a long time SME V user.

Me, well I try not to listen to stuff thats out of budget!

One word that seems to crop up from people who have listened to SME products is 'neutral'. This may be a good or a bad thing depending on your audio outlook - for me it is a good thing. I've got an SME 309 (modified).

Yes, I have a 30. There is not much to say about it. It's very easy to setup and after that it doesn't need a lot of attention except a couple drops of oil for the motor once a year. As far as sound; it doesn't have one, at least as far as I can determine. My previous tables, Linn and Audio Mecca, each had a recognizable character, but not the SME.
