    Hello!!

I am trying to get some information on a sony ecm-51 microphone. From the research i've done, it seems they are very rare. Does anyone know where I can look for a microphone that is similar? I'm flying a little blind and any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi Alexa, there is a thread on this forum with more info on the Sony ECM-51 microphone, comparing it (essentially) with the Sony ECM-50 lavalier.
Have you read that thread ?
On a similar microphone: if your aim is to find a microphone that looks like an ECM-51, is retractable, and so on - I do not know of any other manufacturer that makes anything that comes close - sorry.
    Hope this helps, Peter.
