Just wondered if anyone could recommend some decent spade connectors for use with speaker cables? I'm looking to replace the cheapish banana plugs I'm currently using. Plus I've just ordered a new amplifier which only has one set of speaker outputs and I don't fancy trying to cram two runs of speaker cable into one set of plugs, as I run my speakers biwired using the secondary set of binding posts on my current amp. Where as two sets of spades should sit happily on a single set of binding posts. Any suggestions/comments would be welcomed.

Cheers,

If you didn't want to reterminate all the cables, you could probably keep half with the banana plug ends, and then connect one spade and one banana to each output terminal?

MartinC, thanks for the suggestion. Though to be honest the terminations in the banana plugs weren't my best DIY work so I'll either remake them when fitting spades or replace them completely with spades. I'm just looking for some suggestions on makes/models/stockists that other members have found to be good.

I also use bi-wiring but use only one set of posts. I have heard that this is better than using two sets of terminals.
The connector shown below will take two 12 AWG cables.

Bluemax, cheers for the replies. Those are the banana plugs that I currently use but the problem I have with them is that I'm using DNM speaker cable which is very thin single core cable. To get it to work with the plugs I had to solder the cable in place with silver solder. It was a complete pain in the backside as the insulation had a tendency to melt before the solder, plus the design of the barrel in the plug didn't make it any easier.
Though I notice that HifiCables stock the Eichmann bayonet plugs which look like they might be easier to work with. Plus I've used Eichmann bullets on my DIY interconnect and been very happy with them.
