My system is currently hidden away from the builders, but when I get it back up and refamiliarise myself with it, I plan to install an EQ63 from One-Thing-Audio in place of the standard cap and resistor in my Quad63s. I might as well take the opportunity to replace the existing binding posts, but am not sure what would be best as a replacement (at a real world price)

The standard fare seems to be gold- (or rhodium-) plated brass of various designs, but I've also seen bronze and "red copper". Copper seems a good idea, but is likely to tarnish quickly if unplated and I've not seen plated copper.

There is also the option of Eichmann sockets or WBT next gen.

Any thoughts would be most welcome- especially if based on experience :)

NB Also posted on the Wam so apologies if you are reading this twice

I've been using some " pure red copper " ones manufactured by CMC
( bought from hifi collective ) .

I've had them on my amplifier for quite a while now and have had no problems with tarnishing , they're very well made ( albeit a bit too long for my application , just hacksawed a bit off the end ) .

Not sure what difference they made on their own as I changed the speaker output cable inside the amp at the same time , but the combination of the two was very worth while .

PS , tomato ketchup is very good at removing copper oxide .

CMC gets my vote excellent products Don.

Ketchup very good on fish and chips too.

Thanks Laurence. Is tartare suace any good on copper? I was told CMC do gold plated copper, but I can't fnd them - only gold plated brass

Thanks. That looks the business! However, on reflection, I'd prefer a drop-in replacement, so I could always go back to standard if necessary and I suspect these would not fit the existing holes.
