speaker kits

i did. ipl st5l's fantastic speakers... go to the my kit link at the bottom of this post for a piccy and there's a link there to the build thread i posted. it wanders on and off topic occasionally but it's all there.

yes, very easy. the only bit i didn;t do was the crossover - thanks tony. but i the instructions of that looked pretty simple and i'm sure i could have had a crack at them and done ok.

Yeah if the PCB is ready drilled I am sure I can handle that, its not like I would have to solder ICs.

When I get a job I want to upgrade my HIFI and the speakers is one of the first things that need to go so a DIY kit may be a good idea. They would have to be book shelf ones for space reasons though.
 
Built a Dynaudio Foccus kit (basically a front ported Contour 1.2) when Dyn still produced kits, used Hovland musicaps in the crossovers and Kimber wire for the internals - not difficult to build even with my v. basic skills. Well worth doing. I'd check out Wilmslow Audio as they have a large variety of speakers in basic or full kits.
