My open concept small house that has a living room, kitchen and back living room without walls separating them. When I'm in the front living room I want to hear just those two speakers, when I'm in the back living room I want to hear those two speakers but... when I'm in the kitchen, which is between the two living rooms I'd like to have the right channel on the two speakers in one living room and the left channel on the other two speakers in the other living room. Is there a switch that will allow me do this? Thanks

Not ready made, as far as I'm aware. However, the logic of what you want should be easy to DIY using decent, say 10 amp, break before make switches.

What will be more of a challenge will be the cabling, as you'll have to run cables from each loudspeaker to the switcher, and back to the amplifier. I'm assuming one amplifier and passive loudspeakers. If each living room has it's own amplifier or the amplifier is valved or the 'speakers are active, that complicates matters further.

Not an easy thing to do, but doable.

Thank you. so the existing wires/cables to the speakers wouldn't be enough? I'm only using one amp.

The existing wiring may well be suitable. I wasn't making assumptions about what you may already have. With a single amplifier and passive loudspeakers and assuming your new switch-box will be located next to the amplifier, you should just need new short wires between the amplifier and the switch box, then the existing loudspeaker wires taken to the switch box.

ok, thank you!

I have a Rotel RKB-D8100 amp has 8 channels so can accommodate four sets of speakers. I have should have mentioned that at the beginning.

Not sure that helps, as I doubt whether the amp has provision for switching left to one pair of 'speakers and right to another pair. If it does, then you're fine. If not, as I suspect, then you'll still need to DIY some sort of switch box.
